Remember That 'Islamophobic' Shooting in Vermont? The Facts Defy the Narrative

Remember that November 2023 incident in Vermont where three young Palestinian men were shot by a deranged guy on the dark streets of Burlington? The violence was indeed tragic, leaving one of the victims paralyzed, but it was immediately branded an Islamophobic attack by the media and numerous politicians despite the fact that there was no evidence supporting that claim.

President Biden quickly jumped on the bandwagon, claiming, “There is absolutely no place for violence or hate in America.” Vice President Kamala Harris’ statement bemoaned that “far too many people live with the fear that they could be targeted and attacked based on their beliefs or who they are.”

Now investigative journalist Daniel Greenfield claims in an article titled “The Greatest Islamophobia Hoax in America Exposed” that the whole thing was B.S. from the start and that way too many “serious” people jumped the gun on their conclusions and spread wild misinformation around the internet:

All of these [Islamophobia] claims, along with many others around the shootings, were based on lies. The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee falsely claimed that “a man shouted and harassed the victims, then proceeded to shoot them. We have reason to believe this shooting occurred because the victims are Arab.” In reality, they had been shot by a local resident outside his house who did not say a word.

Since the narrative fell apart, Greenfield writes, virtually none of the national media outlets that had breathlessly reported the Islamophobic attack have updated their stories or provided retractions.

Rand Paul Eviscerates Tony Fauci, 'For His Dishonesty, Frankly, He Should Go to Prison'

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is certainly no fan of Dr. Tony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the face of the government’s COVID response for most of the pandemic. The two repeatedly clashed in Senate hearings over mask-wearing, lockdowns, and whether the U.S. funded virus “gain-of-function” research -- a charge Fauci adamantly denied.

Fauci appeared in early January before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic to deliver closed-door testimony, revealing that he did not “follow the science” and was, in fact, sometimes just making things up on the fly.

"History should judge him as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history — in the entire history of the world..." “For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison,” Paul told WABC host John Catsimatidis. “Do you think the scientific knowledge that was gained from this research was worth the deaths of 20 million people?

The chairman of the committee, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), has said he was surprised how frequently Fauci said he didn’t recall decisions or circumstances during the early days of the outbreak that killed 1.1 million Americans.

Although Paul is right on point with his criticisms, it's unlikely that Fauci will face any consequences for his disastrous reign where an untold number of people lost their livelihoods to vax mandates, businesses were shuttered, learning loss in children shot through the roof, and families were torn apart.
