Philly Democratic State Lawmaker Facing Investigation After Drunken Outburst at Local Bar

A Pennsylvania state lawmaker is facing scrutiny after footage of a drunken incident went viral on social media. State Rep. Kevin Boyle, a Democrat representing Northeast Philadelphia, finds himself at the center of a law enforcement investigation after he behaved in an unruly manner at a local bar.

On Thursday morning, Rep. Boyle had a drunken outburst at Gaul & Co. Malt House in Rockledge, Pennsylvania, a borough near Philly. The outburst allegedly escalated to the point that Boyle began making threats against female employees. Rockledge Borough Police Chief John Gallagher noted that the lawmaker “was obviously intoxicated and possibly under the influence of drugs.”

The footage shows Boyle threatening to “end this bar,” and to prevent a military service member from getting a promotion. During his bizarre rant, he also referenced “Jewish military intelligence and traitors.” Boyle’s behavior resulted in him being banned from the establishment; law enforcement is currently looking into the matter.

Pennsylvania House Democratic leaders released a statement on Friday night:

We are aware of a video circulating on social media. It is very troubling. Rep. Boyle has been open about his personal challenges. We are encouraged that our colleague and dear friend is seeking help. Our commitment to delivering mental health services does not stop at the Capitol Steps. One of the main reasons we advocate so strongly for mental health access is the reality that challenges can and do happen to anyone, and seeking treatment should be encouraged, not stigmatized.

R. Emmett Madden, Boyle's attorney, noted that the lawmaker "is not accused of any act of violence," and that he "intends to follow through with all court, mental health and medical recommendations."

Dr. Anthony Fauci Cashes In With the Memoir Nobody Asked For

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief architect of America's disastrous response to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, is cashing in his chips and releasing the memoir that nobody asked for.

Dr. Fauci’s memoir will reach back to his boyhood in Brooklyn, New York, his decades of dedication to caring for critically ill patients, and his many scientific accomplishments, and carry through close relationships with seven presidents. It will be an inspiration for readers who are grateful to him, and ones who want to emulate him in public service. He is the embodiment of “speaking truth to power,” with dignity and results.

The memoir, entitled "On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service," will be released in June this year, according to his publisher, Viking Press. The book will reportedly explore Fauci’s career as a public health expert, which included serving under seven presidents and serving as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for almost four decades.

Fauci said in a statement:

I hope that this memoir will serve as a personalized document for the reader to understand better the daunting challenges that we have faced in public health over the past 40 years. I would also like to inspire younger individuals in particular to consider careers in public health and public service.
