Google, Boosting Democrat Candidates and Censoring Republicans Since 2008

We've known for some time about various social media companies, internet providers, and search engines laying their thumbs on the scale where political discourse is concerned, and we've likewise known for some time that those scales generally tip to the left.

MRC Free Speech America researchers compiled 41 times Google was caught interfering in U.S. elections, beginning in 2008, intensifying in 2016 and continuing into 2024. MRC researchers found carefully crafted studies and numerous reports (from 2008 through February 2024) that have consistently demonstrated the tech behemoth’s election meddling.

In 2008, Google endorsed the radical, young Sen. Obama and censored support for Sen. Clinton. Journalist Simon Owens reported at the time that the tech giant suspended the accounts of writers who wrote pro-Clinton blogs critical of Obama. “[N]early all of [the censored bloggers] had three things in common,” Owens wrote. “Most were pro-Hillary Clinton blogs, all were anti-Barack Obama, and several were listed on justsaynodeal.com, an anti-Obama website.”

Their interference in the 2020 election, to this day perhaps the most contentious and most debated election in American history, was likewise aimed not solely at Republicans: In 2020, Google picked its favored and disfavored candidates and continued its biased censorship spree. During the 2020 Democratic primary, The tech giant disabled then-presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard’s Google Ads account just as she became the most searched candidate following the first Democratic Party primary debate.

Google is, of course, a private company, and one would presume that as such, they are entitled to hire whomever they please and set their own editorial policies. But Google, as previously noted, has a near-monopoly on the search engine business, and that spills over into advertising placements and "suggested" content.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Facing Decades-Old Allegations of Sexual Assault

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing serious allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1993. The accusations come from a lawsuit filed against the mayor by a former NYPD aide and could cause some significant problems for Adams. A woman accused Mayor Eric Adams in a lawsuit of asking her for oral sex in exchange for career help in 1993 and sexually assaulting her when she refused.

The allegation was made on Monday in a legal complaint connected to a lawsuit that the woman originally filed in November in Manhattan under the Adult Survivors Act. The woman, who worked with Mr. Adams at New York City’s transit police bureau, claimed she asked him for help after she had been passed over for a promotion.

The plaintiff claims she was passed over for promotions while working for the Transit Bureau even though she passed promotional exams and was told she was “next in line” for a promotion. Adams was a “high-ranking member” of the organization, which prompted the plaintiff to discuss her problems with getting promoted. She is also suing the City of New York and the NYPD Transit Bureau for negligence. The plaintiff seeks damages for gender discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and enabling a crime of gender-motivated violence.

This is not the first lawsuit the plaintiff has filed.

The plaintiff has filed other lawsuits in the past. In 2008, she sued American Airlines and lost, arguing that an employee had caused her to fall out of a wheelchair, injuring her back. She sued the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board in 2009, arguing that she was denied compensation after she was attacked by a student. She lost at trial and then appealed parts of the decision to the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court, where she won several procedural motions but failed to win a retrial.
